You'll be surprised at how well we eat out here in the “boonies”. All local restaurants cater to tourists, so casual attire is okay everywhere.

Exactly two miles south on the lake road is The Lighthouse restaurant, boasting a large porch, an air-conditioned dining room and an active dock for boaters. The lake views, good food, large portions, and moderate prices make The Lighthouse a favorite. It is the local spot, so a beer and a game of pool are always a good idea. Weekends are festive.

Within a five minute stroll is Sheldrake Point Winery and Café. An outdoor patio provides a view of the lake and vineyard. Serving lunch and dinner on a limited schedule, the menu features “wine inspired cuisine”.

The Golden Buck, less than a ten minute drive, is another local gathering place. “The Buck” offers American fare, outside dining in the summer, and reasonable prices, and some of the friendliest service around.

Simply Red, less than fifteen minutes away in Trumansburg, has an innovative and frequently changing menu. Chef/owner Samantha believes in fresh ingredients and cooking “from scratch”…and you'll definitely taste it in her fabulous dishes!

Taughannock Farms Inn is more formal and offers a more traditional menu. Turkey and various roasts and chops are served in generous portions. Meal prices are all-inclusive, from appetizer to dessert.

Driving to Ithaca (about 25 minutes) opens up a whole other world of choices. Our favorites include Thai Cuisine, Just a Taste, Madeline's Patisserie, The Boatyard Grill , Maxie's Supper Club, The Heights Café, The Lost Dog Café, and Bistro Q. A dinner cruise is also available on the nicely restored MV Manhattan, departing from Ithaca. We have most menus available for your perusal.

The east side of Seneca Lake also offers a number of dinner choices, most of which are operated by Seneca Lake Wineries.
